Mensaje enviado al Movimiento por la Paz Japones por el 70 Aniversario de los Bonbardeos de Iroshima y Nagasaki
Japanese Peace Committee
Dear comrade Chisaka:
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the nuclear bombardment
over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Cuban Movement for Peace and
Sovereignty of the Peoples (MovPaz, the Spanish acronym) wishes to
convey its feelings of affection and solidarity to the Japanese Peace
Committee, and through it, to all Japanese peace-loving people.
Seven decades have gone by since that treacherous aggression that
moved, and still today continues to move the entire humankind, and
because of which the Japanese people continues to suffer with the
memories and sequels left to its victims.
The peace-loving world mobilizes to commemorate that genocide and to
demand, with even more strength, the dismantling of all nuclear
weapons and the end of the arms race incited by the imperialism of the
United States and its allies.
In our region of Latin America and the Caribbean, declared first free
of nuclear weapons zone in the world and confirmed as Zone of Peace by
the Declaration of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean
States (CELAC, its Spanish acronym) during its summit of heads of
state and government celebrated in Havana in January 2014, many
activities will be performed to recall the date.
In Cuba, MovPaz, side by side with the Cuban people, will also develop
an important group of activities on the occasion of this 70th
anniversary, in which we will reaffirm that a world without wars or
nuclear weapons and with Peace is possible.
We are convinced that this anniversary will become an important moment
in our common struggle in favor of general and complete disarmament,
and will serve as a new boost to multiply the number of persons who
join that noble task in defense of world Peace.
The occasion is suitable to reiterate our wishes of solidarity and
success in the commemorative activities scheduled by the Japanese
